Network Expansion (Incremental)

Most network operators start small, i.e. with one or two users and one or two sources of gas/liquid. However, as business grows, more connecting pipelines are laid to reach the supplies to more users. This is a part of business development.

PAnORaMA being a generic simulator, future expansion and its effect can be comprehensively studied using its simulation power. An existing network model can be extended to incorporate proposed provision of additional pipeline by introducing branching off from some locations. PAnORaMA has a provision for this purpose to introduce splitter nodes at any existing piping section and creating a branch line and a new user. It can also allow converting an existing dead end and connect a pipe to it to the new user etc.

There is also a possibility of introducing new supply points into the network. An existing network can be extended to add supply points, delivery points, additional pipe lengths etc. The simulations carried out with such proposed changes also allows design of such changes in terms of pipe sizing of new piping sections, rating of new pumps etc.
